ME

I’m Javi Yond, a Berlin-based visual artist working across audiovisual creation, graphic design and photography. I was born and raised in Madrid, with Cuban and northern Spanish roots, and my practice is driven by visual storytelling shaped by different cultural and professional contexts.

I studied Audiovisual Direction at CES (Madrid) and later specialised in Graphic Design at Trazos School of Digital Arts. This combination gave me a hybrid background that allows me to move naturally between video, design, photography and visual direction.

My professional career started in television, working on the sets of Antena 3 (Spain’s leading TV network) as an assistant stage manager. That early experience introduced me to large-scale production environments and taught me how to work closely with different teams and departments, giving me a solid understanding of production workflows.

In 2020, I began collaborating with Grupo Enigma, the resident chamber orchestra at the Auditorio de Zaragoza, with more than 30 years of history. Over time, my role expanded and I became responsible for the group’s digital communication and visual identity, developing and coordinating its visual language across graphic design, audiovisual content, web, social media and stage-related materials. The ensemble is currently under the musical and artistic direction of Asier Puga.

In parallel, in early 2021, I started working as a video editor for Atresmedia Internacional, one of Spain’s leading media groups, editing promos, teasers and content for international platforms and special campaigns — a role I continue to hold today.

At the same time, I joined the Digital Design department at the communication agency Atrevia, where I spent nearly four years working on digital and visual campaigns for companies such as AstraZeneca, Endesa, Samsung and Ibis, among others. During this period, I learned to adapt to different formats, clients and production rhythms while maintaining visual coherence.

Over time, my practice increasingly shifted toward the cultural and artistic field. After leaving Atrevia, I focused more deeply on artistic projects, especially my ongoing collaboration with Grupo Enigma, while continuing my work with Atresmedia Internacional and developing independent projects as a freelance creator.

One of my most recent works is Petróleo. Una ficción documental, conceived and adapted by Asier Puga with original music by composer Carlos de Castellarnau, premiered in May 2025. For this production, I was responsible for all graphic and audiovisual elements, including the creation of a video-art piece integrated into the performance.

At the end of 2024, I relocated to Berlin, where I continue to develop my artistic practice.

I’m also a founding member of Klang Company, a transdisciplinary artistic collective, where I lead the production and technical production, and coordinates the visual identity of the company and collective’s projects, including graphic design, web & visual identity and audiovisual content for the projects from initial concept through to execution.

Having lived in Madrid, Australia and Germany has shaped a flexible and collaborative approach to my work. My practice combines visual experimentation with organisational awareness, bridging creative processes and production realities within contemporary projects.
